WS Land Clearing (WSLC) is the premier land clearing specialist in Simcoe County. They provide services in land clearing, site preparation, land reclamation and bush control. They have been working in the area for quite some time and have developed eco-friendly techniques to clearing away trees, stumps and debris. The market is competitive and the WS Land Clearing website serves as a primary marketing tool to help WS Land Clearing attract new customers.

Like many entrepreneurs, Phil worked with a friend to create his website on Squarespace. Unbeknownst to Phil, the template they selected for his site limited his use of the home page and left him with a considerable amount of useless, and frustrating, white space. Phil saw the work we had done on a friend’s website and he asked us to help update the WSLC site.

ELM Avenue’s Role
Our starting point was a branding board constructed using Phil’s existing logo and images he sent us of the WS Land Clearing team in action. Phil also pointed us to a number of comparable sites to get a sense of what was happening in the market. Our efforts focussed on promoting Phil’s services and abilities in a manner consistent with the marketplace.
Additional Marketing Features
The WS Land Clearing site already had a solid structure, so we updated the footer with a larger logo and activated the social media icons. We rebuilt the home page to escape the limitations of the previous template and added a number of new sections promoting the characteristics that set WS Land Clearing apart. We expanded the navigation by adding a new gallery page and individual pages for each service. This allows customers to see the quality of work delivered by WS Land Clearing.
A page for each service pages gave us an opportunity to describe the offerings in more detail, repeat the competitive differentiators, include customer testimonials and cross market the other services. Wherever possible, we used photos and videos from WS Land Clearing to increase the visual appeal and communicate their abilities.
Like Walker at North Simcoe Excavation & Septic, Phil keeps a great record of his projects on Instagram and periodically the two work together on really cool projects. Integrating the WS Land Clearing Instagram feed with the website provides a “one-and-done” marketing effort and helps show what the company can do for customers who might not be on social media.

We continue to support Phil and the WS Land Clearing team, providing updates where necessary and periodically adding new content. We look forward to being a part of this company’s future growth.
